Role and Jurisdiction of the Georgia District Attorney (D.A.)

The District Attorney's office is a vital part of the judicial branch of Georgia state government and is an elected position.

Chief Prosecuting Officer: The D.A. is the chief prosecuting officer for the State of Georgia within one of the State's 51 judicial circuits.
