Jail & Bonding Information

Long County Sheriff's Office does not currently operate its own jail. The original Long County Jail was in the Long County Courthouse for many years, but due to a fire that occurred in the early 1980's the jail in the courthouse was never restored. Long County currently houses in surrounding County Jails (listed below). The Sheriff's of these counties have been a big help to our office and have helped this office, keep Long County safe.

All holds placed on Long County Inmates MUST be placed with the Long County Sheriff's Office NOT with the Jail they are being housed at.

The Long County Sheriff's Office does not set Bonds. Bonds are set by the either the Magistrate Court, State Court, or Superior Court.

The Long County Sheriff's Office is not responsible for contacting you about you court date. You will receive notice of your court date from the Clerk of Court (912) 545-2123. If you have a change of address it is your responsibility to inform the court and your bondsman of this change.
