🛡️ Sex Offender Management & Enforcement
The Long County Sheriff's Office actively manages and monitors registered sex offenders in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 42-1-12, which governs Georgia's State Sexual Offender Registry.
As of September 5th, 2025 our office oversees 67 registered offenders-a number that fluctuates regularly due to updates in residency and compliance status.
Sex offender risk levels are determined by the Sex Offender Risk Review Board, not by the Sheriff's Office. Our role is to ensure that all offenders remain compliant with state law and are monitored appropriately to protect public safety.
